Master the Backbone of Wireless Connectivity

Get hands-on with real microwave radio equipment currently deployed to connect cellular sites.
This intensive training takes you beyond the basics showing you how microwave links power mobile networks through point-to-point transmission.

You will not only learn how to install and configure microwave radios, but also understand how they fit into the bigger picture of cellular backhaul, traffic flow, redundancy, and network topologies.

Course Highlights

• • Understanding Cellular Network Architecture — Build foundational knowledge of how mobile networks operate from the mobile device to the core network.
  • Understand the foundation — Learn what microwave radio is, its core principles, traffic handling capacities, and commonly used frequencies (6GHz–80GHz).
  • Understand protection schemes — Learn about 1+0, 1+1 Hot Standby, and Space Diversity configurations and where to apply them in real deployments
  • Master link deployment process — Explore how to interpret RFI documents to ensure accurate link set up as per planning.
  • Get hands-on with the actual equipment — Train on Microwave radio equipment’s units currently deployed in Kenya’s mobile networks. Each equipment in detail separately.
  • Assemble and install with confidence — Gain practical skills in antenna mounting, outdoor unit (ODU) and indoor unit (IDU) installation, grounding, and safe rigging. PRACTICAL
  • Perform link alignment and signal verification — Learn to align links accurately and determine received signal levels against the planned design. PRACTICAL
  • Configure & commission links — Practice setting up frequencies, modulation types, transmit power, traffic ports, near-end interference test PRACTICAL
